About Lynn Lubell

Lynn Lubell founded Admission By Design in 2008 and brings a wealth of relevant experience and expertise to her educational consulting practice. 

A former admissions interviewer with degrees from MIT and Harvard, Lynn Lubell is a college insider who is passionate about demystifying the process by providing solid advice and personalized assistance to students and their families.

Her extensive background in marketing and business strategy gives her an eye for knowing what can make a student attractive to admissions officers and for finding schools with the right academic, social, and financial fit.

She is a Professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), member of Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), member of Southern Association of College Admissions Counseling (SACAC), and has completed IECA’s Principles and Practices Institute for Independent College Counselors.  Lynn stays current by visiting colleges and participating in professional development events on a regular basis.

Based in South Florida, Admission By Design consults with students and families throughout the United States and worldwide.  Lynn Lubell has held the IECA International Specialty Designation since 2012 based on her experience and expertise working with international students attending high schools in the United States and abroad.

Lynn became interested in educational consulting while serving, for almost ten years, as an alumni interviewer for undergraduate applicants to her alma mater, as a member of the MIT Education Council.

Lynn’s emphasis on objectivity, organization, the student’s personal growth, and finding “right fit” activities and colleges, helps keep students on track and motivated while reducing the stress that can often become a part of the college admissions process. Her extensive curriculum, custom methodologies, and integration of technology streamlines the student’s efforts and improves results.  

Her website InLikeMe.com is a favorite of guidance counselors, and a go-to destination for college-bound students and their parents.  Lynn’s expertise includes guiding clients to think strategically about high school (e.g. activities, curriculum, summer programs, employment, awards, leadership, opportunities to develop an attractive “hook”) and helping to articulate accomplishments and credentials in successful essays and applications.
